Is iad na foirne eile a bhí páirteach: Gaelcholáiste na Mara, an tInbhear Mór, Scoil Chuimsitheach Chiaráin, An Ceathrú Rua agus Coláiste Chroí Mhuire, An Spidéal. B’iad Coláiste Chroí Mhuire na buaiteoirí ar deireadh agus bé Páidí Ó Lionaird an t-aoichathaoirleach.
The senior debating team reached the All-Ireland final of the Gael-Linn Competition in the Tullamore Court Hotel, Co. Offaly for the second successive year. Áoibhínn Ní Cheallaigh, Mairéad Ní Charthaigh and Isabella Nic Rodáin spoke against the motion “that the Irish language gets fair play from this country’s legislation.” The other participating teams were Carraroe Comprehensive School, Conamara, Co. Galway, Gaelcholáiste na Mara, Arklow, Co. Wicklow and Coláiste Chroí Mhuire, Spiddal, Co. Galway. The latter were the eventual winners. Guest chairperson was Paidí Ó Lionaird.
The girls excelled in the delivery, rebuttal and content and we are all so proud of them.
