Coláiste Oiriall celebrated CMETB Ethos Day in March. We presented 15 students with certificates that recognised their significant portrayal of the five
ETB core values of respect, care, excellence in education, equality and community. The staff had no involvement in the process but rather the nominations were submitted solely by their peers. Ethos Day activities contained many elements of Wellbeing Day in the school.
The following fifteen students were presented with certificates confirming how they espouse the ETB five core values. Chuaigh baicle daltaí ó gach scoil CMETB fá choinne siúlóide i bPáirc Rossmore Déardaoin fosta agus chuaigh siad go Coláiste Ard Feá ina dhiaidh sin fá choinne greim le hithe. Coláiste Oiriall was represented on the Rossmore walk by the twelve members of Comhairle na nDaltaí (Student Council) accompanied by the school’s Ethos Lead, Múinteoir Bríd Ní Bhraoin.
The school facilitated random acts of kindness among students and teachers. Caitheadh rang OSPS ag plé na ngníomhartha agus rinne deireadh acu gníomh cineáltais Déardaoin do phiara. They post the acts of kindness shown to them on specially constructed noticeboards.

Le linn na seachtaine céanna rinne muid ceiliúradh ar Sheachtain na Gaeilge le lear mór gníomhaíochtaí: ceardlann maidir le podchraoltaí le Tessa Fleming agus Proinsias Ó Coinn, caint ó iarscoláire agus úinéir ‘Blasta’, Seán Mac Cléire ar a shaol oibre sa tionscal lónadóireachta, Céilí amuigh faoin aer, Toraíocht Taisce thart ar an scoil, múrmhaisiú le seanfhocal ar bhalla istigh sa scoil, taispeántas den fhadscannán, ‘Roise agus Frank’ agus Coiste na Gaeilge ag léamh amach tomhasanna, dánta gairide agus seanfhocail go laethúil ar an idirchum.
We celebrated Seachtain na Gaeilge with a plethora of activities: workshop in podcast production with Tessa Fleming and Proinsias Ó Coinn, former student and proprietor of ‘Blasta,’ Seán Mac Cléire, talks about his working life in the catering industry, outdoor Céilí, Treasure Hunt around the school, viewing of Irish language feature film ‘Roise agus Fraank’ and the Irish Language Committee reading daily riddles, poems and proverbs on the intercom.
