Bhí tús iontach gnóthach againn leis an scoilbhliain úr 2024-25. 1 st Year students travelled to Cavan Adventure Centre for their annual tour

While 2 nd Year students travelled to Castleblayney for their tour. TY students have already visited Tanagh Outdoor Education Centre and the previous week, climbed Errigal Mountain, the highest peak in Co. Donegal.

Don chéad uair ariamh thug scoláirí Idirbhliana Choláiste Oiriall aghaidh ar Thír Chonaill chun an tEaragail, an sliabh is airde sa chondae a dhreapadh Máirt na seachtaine seo. Bhí mórchuid acu mar chúnna agus iad ag dreapadh leo ar an chabhsa nuathógtha gan stró de chineál ar bith. I gcuideachta na múinteoirí bhí treoraí áitiúil oilte ann le taithí na mblianta.

The students were also accompanied by Séamus Ó Dubhchaoin, an experienced and qualified guide. The 50 students had little difficulty reaching the 750-metre peak, the highest peak in Donegal on the edge of the Dún Lúiche Gaeltacht. Considerable work was done on access to the mountain in the last two years with the entire pad paved with flagstones.

They retired to Charlie’s Café, Letterkenny for a meal on the return journey. Is cinnte gur chuir an dreapadh codladh orthu oíche Mháirt. An unforgettable experience and already pencilled in for next year’s TY itinerary. Bhain achan duine sult as gan dabht ar bith.
