Thug daltaí Ceimice 5ú bliana Choláiste Oiriall cuairt ar Ioad Cóireála Uisce i dTeach na dTrí Mhíle i gcuideachta a múinteora, Jane Nic Pháidín. Ba é Uinseann Mac Cionna, tuismitheoir duine de na daltaí a bhí mar threoraí. Bhain na daltaí an-tairbhe as mar tá timpeallacht uisce ar cheann de na topaicí Ardteiste atá le clúdach acu.

Daltaí Choláiste Oiriall ag an Ionad Cóireála Uisce

5^th Year Chemistry students in Coláiste Oiriall visited the Togan Water Treatment Plant in the Threemilehouse – Corcaghan area last Thursday. After signing in, a safety briefing was conducted on arrival. The tour was facilitated by Vincent Mc Kenna. Part of the 1½  hour was indoors and part of the tour was outside.

Togan Water Treatment Plant is a conventional WTP with Screening/ pH Pretreatment/ Coagulation/ Clarification/ Filtration/ pH Correction/Disinfection/ Fluoridation. Chemicals used are as follows: Na₂CO₃ Sodium Carbonate [pH correction], Al₂(SO₄)₃ Aluminium Sulphate [Coagulation], Cl₂ Chlorine Gas [Disinfection] and 2H₂SiF6 Hydrofluorisilic Acid [Fluoridation]. The students were accompanied by their teacher, Múinteoir Jane Nic Phaidín.
