Coláiste Oiriall has been ranked number one school in Ulster by The Sunday Times for student progression to universities based on data from 30 third level institutions over the last three academic years.
Coláiste Oiriall has been placed at number one in Ulster on five occasions and second in Ulster on two further occasions over the past seven years. Loreto College, Cavan and Pobalscoil Ghaoth Dobhair, Donegal, were ranked second and third respectively this year. This year Colá¡iste Oiriall had been ranked eighteenth in the top 20 mixed schools nationally and overall they were placed in 69th position out of the top 400 schools featured.
The Sunday Times Best Schools Guide 2017 ranks the top 400 secondary schools in Ireland by the average proportion of students registering in the academic years 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17 with one of the nine universities on the island of Ireland, main primary teacher training colleges, Royal College of Surgeons or National College of Art and Design.
