Amy Ní Amaill, Glaslough Harriers and former student in Coláiste Oiriall, was formally presented with her Athletics Sports Scholarship in DCU recently. The presentation was made by Enda Fitzpatrick, Director of DCU Athletics Academy. Michael Kennedy, Director of DCU Gaelic Games Academy,
A Bank of Ireland official representing the main bursaries’ sponsor and Brendan Ó Dufaigh, Príomhoide, Coláiste Oiriall, were also in attendance.
As well as a financial stipend, the scholarship includes all sports related services including blood profiling, access to gym, training facilities, mentoring and physiotherapy. Amy had won every accolade at her favourite 400 metres, 800 metres and 1,500 metres races in school and club competition down through the years and everybody at Coláiste Oiriall is confident that she will continue to excel on the track at university and senior levels.
Is ocáid mhór bróid do Choláiste Oiriall go bhfuil scoláireacht chomh hiomraiteach bainte ag iarscoláire. Tá gach áis agus seirbhís do luthchleasaithe san áireamh sa scoláireacht seo agus ní thugtar amach ach 50 acu sa bhliain. Tá an t-úafas measa cheana féin ag Enda Fitzpatrick, Stiúrthóir Acadamh Luthchleasaíochta DCU ar Amy de bharr a cumais agus a díograise agus í i mbun reatha. Tá Amy ag tabhairt faoi mhúinteoireacht bunscoile in Ollscoil Chathair Átha Cliath ar champas Choláiste Phádraig.
