Aimee Ní Bhraonáin, a former student in Coláiste Oiriall, was one of 125 recipients of the JP McManus All-Ireland Scholarships covering the island of Ireland in the University of Limerick Concert Hall.
Aimee received this prestigious scholarship in recognition of her academic performance in the Leaving Certificate examination. Aimee received her primary education in Scoil Mhuire, Glaslough and received 613 CAO points in her Leaving Certificate. She is now studying Physiotherapy in UCD. The scholarship in worth almost €34,000 over five years of undergraduate study.

Aimee was accompanied to the UL ceremony by her parents, Theresa and Val Brennan and by her former school Príomhoide, Brendan Ó Dufaigh. Mary Mitchell O’Connor, Minister of State for Higher Education, presented the McManus Scholarship to Aimee at the ceremony, which was attended by John Kiely, Limerick Senior hurling Manager in the University of Limerick Concert Hall.
As part of the programme, the Department of Education identifies the two best Leaving Cert results in each of the 26 countries, along with the next 48 most successful results countrywide. Eligible students in the Republic must be in receipt of medical cards.
