TY students in Coláiste Oiriall will perform their first ever musical, an Irish language version of the Wizard of Oz on Wednesday, 3th December and Thursday, 4th December in the Garage Theatre at 7.30 pm nightly.

 Coláiste Oiriall wishes to congratulate two of its former students, Tomás de Búrca and Kiana Ní Chionnaith who received Entrance Scholars’ Awards at a ceremony in UCD O’Reilly Hall last Wednesday.

Bhí an Patrician High School róláidir agsu bhuaigh siad 3-1 leis an foireann céanna a chríochnaigh sa dara áit i gCraobh na hÉireann anuraidh sa comórtas Futsal Bunscoile.

Next Wednesday and Thursday nights Coláiste Oiriall students will perform an tAsaralaí ó Oz, an Irish language version of the Wizard of Oz, in the Garage Theatre at 7.30 pm next Wednesday and Thursday nights. This is the first musical undertaken by the school and the TY students can’t wait for the curtain to open on their show.

 

Two Coláiste Oiriall students, Donall Mac Canna and Luke Mac Giolla Comhaill, accompanied by their mentor, Múinteoir Aoife Nic Liam, will travel to the National Library in Kildare Street in Dublin  on Friday to take part in the final of the Poetry Aloud competition.

 Many congratulations to Dysania and Co Crú, two contemporary senior music groups in Coláiste Oiriall who have won through to the national finals of the Scléip national talent contest for Irish-medium and Gaeltacht post-primary schools.

Coláiste Oiriall TY students presented the Wizard of Oz as Gaeilge to capacity audiences in the Garage Theatre last Wednesday and Thursday nights. This was the first musical ever produced by the school. Many punters complimented all aspects of the show.

Congratulations to Luke Mac Giolla Comhail, a first year student in Coláiste Oiriall, who was awarded second place in the junior category of the prestigious Poetry Aloud national final which took place at the National Library of Ireland in Dublin last Friday.
